Caleb Williams, Furman Safety and Team Captain, Enters the Transfer Portal

AEA client Caleb Williams has entered the transfer portal. A multi-year starter at safety and a team captain at Furman, Williams is a season veteran who can also play nickel, and he is an asset to any secondary.

The resume

Williams arrived at Furman from Tampa Jesuit, where he was a two-time first-team All-State selection and a team captain. He earned SoCon All-Freshman honors in 2022, started at strong safety in 2023, and took over the starting job for good in 2024: 53 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, a forced fumble, and two interceptions, including a 43-yard return against Wofford.[1]

What he brings

Williams has played both safety spots and nickel, blocked a punt, and started in the Southern Conference, one of the deepest leagues in FCS football. He is the kind of veteran a defensive staff can plug in on day one.

Update

On Jan. 29, 2026, Williams signed with South Carolina State. Read the signing post on the AEA blog.
